Celebrate the Essence of Motherhood This Mother’s Day

As soon as an extra line appears on the pregnancy test kit, she starts weaving the thoughts of holding and caressing her child. Starting from the first heartbeat, first food craving, first fetal movement, first kick till the time of birth, she thinks just about her offspring. And no matter how excruciating was the entire term of nine months with changing hormones, the sheer sight of the child comes as a relief. Holding your new born and feeling those tiny hands and feet for the first time, carries an emotion beyond words. Though it might be a short-lived phase, it leaves memories for the lifetime.

Soon after, starts the juggling phase wherein changing nappies, preparing food and cleaning vomits become the never-ending assignment. As the infant grows into a toddler, a mother gets an extra task of hiding things from his reach. Right from holding a spoon, taking his first steps, first swing, first puddle, initial schooling days to graduating, a mother works day and night to ensure that her child gets the best of food, clothes, education and everything else whatever she could of her abilities.

Even after becoming a youngster, she celebrates the first job, first salary and even the first appraisal of her grown-up – more than he himself – without giving a second thought. Eventually, after reaching a certain age, the young children get married and settle down in their lives. However, a mother remains concerned for her kids regardless of how old they are.

Throughout her life, a mother works as a caretaker, a guard, a teacher, a cook, a helper, an advocate, a fighter and what not, to make her infants grow into dependable individuals. She loves her kids wholeheartedly without any selfishness or discrimination. So, if we actually want to summarize a mother or motherhood, it is not viable. The moment a child is born, a mother is also born, and she is never alone – even in her thoughts – after becoming one.

What is Mother’s Day?

Similar to the celebration of various days, Mother’s Day is observed to honor the piousness of motherhood, maternal bonds and the influence of mothers in our lives throughout the world. It is celebrated on different dates in different countries, but mostly, it is observed on the second Sunday in the month of May. For the first time, its celebration was observed in the United States which later spread to many countries of the world.

How Can You Celebrate or Make Your Mother Feel Special?

A mother needs no reasons to celebrate as she herself is the reason of celebrating pure love. Seeing her child happy and healthy is the only thing a mother can dream of. No child can actually pay back for the love and efforts a mother puts in bringing up her infant. You can at least show some gratitude towards her, so you must not miss your chance to make her feel special. And what’s better than the Mother’s Day. The celebration doesn’t necessarily mean bringing expensive gifts for her or hash tagging on social networking sites. It’s beyond that. And your simple gestures, like giving a day off from her routine chores, making her favorite dishes, baking a cake with family members, writing heartfelt messages or poems, or making personalized cards or gifts for her, could bring that beautiful smile on her face which no precious gifts could get. So, grab the chance and make the most of this Mother’s Day to make your mom feel special.
